Mentoring using Skype Video Conferencing service
I have been working with my fist Skype student. She has been thrilled with the results. I will add her comments soon as she sends me some. Initially a problem occurred with an echo in the background so we used our land line speaker phones and that solved the problem. The video quality was first rate. Because I could see on my computer exactly what she was seeing, I was able to adjust the lighting for maximum clarity. It actually works very well. We added to the Skype calls email and phone conversations. She was not able to attend a workshop and this was a great way for her to get what she needed. More to come on this subject. Brian
I just received feedback from Jannie, my first Skype student. This is what she had to say:
Hi Brian,
"Taking Brian's art class via Skype has been very educational. He is a fantastic painter, as well as instructor. I have benefited greatly. In fact it has opened up a whole new way of painting for me. I have loved his work since I first saw it at an art gallery in San Diego over 8 years ago. Brian is very skilled and has a easy manner in his communication over Skype. I would love to take a week long class with him, maybe sometime in the future, but right now Skype is a very good thing for me. Brian thank you for giving me the time from your very dedicated schedule and mentoring me. I am busy working on more paintings and will send you my homework soon."
